Intelligent hardware device - InterfaceBridge FS10
iDev IB is a device used for communications to remote devices connected by serial. The device in already used with success including low GSM signal areas, in telemetry, telecontrol and POS.
RS232 is one of the widely used industrial standard in many devices as: POS, food machines, meters and meetering machines, PLCs and so on.
In many cases, these devices are remote or unattended and by using a GPRS wireless device with RS232 interface connected to a cellular network, for configuring, monitoring or data aquisition you can obtain a stable and efficient method.
iDev IB is such a device.
The device allows transparent communication with remote equipments connected to serial interface in order for the remote equipments to appear as connected directly to the local computer. By using two iDev IB devices, one local in client mode and the other remote as server, they can obtain practically a RS232 cable for which the distance is of no importance.
Why going to remote equipments for configuration, monitoring or data aquisition? Connect the device to RS232 interface of iDev IB, set it's address (IP or DNS) and the computer port it connects to (client mode) or the port it listens to (server mode) and you have access to the device as if it would be in the same room.
If you want to use serial interface (RS232), use IWSC application or any terminal client on your computer.
iDev IB acts as an InterfaceBridge between GPRS and RS232 interface.
