Intelligent hardware device - PortBridge FS20
iDev PB020 is a device used for communications to remote devices connected by serial or ethernet.
RS232 is one of the widely used industrial standard in many devices as: POS, food machines, meters and meetering machines, PLCs and so on.
The ethernet interface extends the device aplicability by connecting network equipments and using TCP protocol: servers and clusters, management computers, meters and meetering machines, and other.
In many cases, these devices are remote or unattended and by using a GPRS wireless device with RS232 and ethernet interfaces connected to a cellular network, for configuring, monitoring or data aquisition you can obtain a stable and efficient method.
iDev PB020 is such a device.
The device allows transparent communication with remote equipments connected to serial and ethernet in order for the remote equipments to appear as connected directly to the local computer.
Why going to remote equipments for configuration, monitoring or data aquisition? Connect the device to ethernet interface of iDev PB010, set LAN and WAN IPs and you have access to the device as if it would be in the same room.
If you want to use serial interface (RS232), use IWSC application or any telnet client on your computer.
iDev PB020 acts as a PortBridge between GPRS and RS232 or ethernet interfaces.
